Our last contribution to TOKION Japan (RIP) was to study the 80's genre of minimal advertisements in fashion aesthetic & the potential connection with Robert Mapplethorpe legendary photography. By referencing for instance notorious Calvin Klein ads, item idem questions the return of minimalism in fashion, within the reinvention of the Helmut Lang label following the designer's departure.
